Reports to: Head Nurse
Schedule: Full time over 4 days, 1:4 Saturdays and 1:13 Sundays
Salary: €41,000+ per annum, depending on experience and skills

We are looking for a confident and experienced Senior RVN to join our nursing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an RVN ready to take on greater clinical responsibility, support colleagues with complex cases and play an active role in maintaining and developing high standards of patient care.
About the Role
Providing high-quality nursing care to patients, including those requiring complex nursing support and advanced monitoring.
Carrying out advanced nursing procedures including IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, medication administration and diagnostic sampling.
Supporting anaesthesia, monitoring and recovery, including higher-risk patients where appropriate.
Developing and maintaining strong skills in anaesthetic monitoring and patient assessment.
Performing and supporting diagnostic imaging, including radiography and ultrasound, where appropriately trained.
Supporting imaging workflows and maintaining high standards of radiation safety and compliance.
Maintaining excellent infection control standards and ensuring a clean, safe clinical environment.
Acting as a senior point of support for colleagues managing more complex patients and cases.
Helping to mentor, coach and develop junior RVNs, student nurses and other members of the nursing team.
Working collaboratively with vets, nurses and support staff to deliver consistently high standards of patient and client care.
About You
Significant post-registration experience as an RVN in small animal practice.
Strong clinical nursing skills and experience managing complex cases.
Confidence with anaesthesia and patient monitoring.
Experience with, or a strong interest in developing, advanced imaging, ultrasound and dentistry skills.
A passion for supporting, mentoring and developing other members of the nursing team.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
A positive, compassionate and professional approach to patient and client care.
A commitment to continuing professional development and expanding your clinical skill set.
A relevant certificate or advanced CPD would be desirable, but we are equally interested in RVNs who can demonstrate strong clinical experience and a commitment to developing their skills.
