What to Expect from a Career with Village Vets
-
Family-owned and vet-led since 1980, we've grown into one of Ireland's most progressive veterinary groups, without losing our heart. Our teams work in modern, well-equipped clinics alongside colleagues who genuinely care about each other, their patients, and the communities they serve.
We offer real career pathways for everyone, from new-graduate programmes to partnership opportunities, backed by exceptional clinical support and one of the strongest CPD cultures in the country. Whether you're a vet, nurse, or support team member, you'll be trusted, supported, and encouraged to grow in a way that makes sense for you.
-
We're committed to advanced medicine, collaborative expertise, and the care every animal deserves. Our practices are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and backed by multiple 24-hour hospitals. With secondary certifications across dermatology, exotics, internal medicine, and more, we offer specialised care for a wide range of conditions, and our joint partners are personally invested in maintaining the highest standards.
Clinical excellence and rewarding careers aren't separate things at Village Vets. They grow together.
-
CPD is at the heart of how we support our people. Newly qualified vets and nurses join structured graduate programmes with guidance from our central medical team, while every team member receives an individual CPD budget and regular internal sessions. When we invest in our people, patients and their owners feel the benefit, and that's the whole point.
-
Our ESG commitment is rooted in care and backed by action. Guided by the UN Sustainable Development Goals, we focus on Gender Equality (SDG 5), Decent Work (SDG 8), and Climate Action (SDG 13).
In practice: inclusive leadership pathways, genuine wellbeing support, and sustainability built into everyday clinic life, from our Net Zero pathway to 2050 to Bike to Work schemes, lower-carbon travel, and biodiversity stations that benefit both local habitats and team wellbeing.
ESG at Village Vets isn't about distant targets. It's about responsible choices every day.

We understand that for some people, taking extended leave may be necessary at some point in their career to travel, get married, or due to several other life events. At Village Vets, we want to ensure that people can undertake these life events, while still having the security of their job to come back to. Over the years, we have had several team members take time away from their career to travel and we understand this demand may increase after the last few years we have had.
Unpaid Leave -Eligible team members may request unpaid leave of up to 12 weeks for significant life events such as travel or personal commitments. Requests must be made at least 6 months in advance and are considered based on operational requirements.

We support ongoing development across clinical and non-clinical pathways, with structured training opportunities and a strong culture of continuous learning.
Funded CPD is provided for all team members, with a structured annual programme planned in advance and delivered during working hours where possible.
Veterinary Council of Ireland Fees -Village Vets covers annual VCI registration fees for eligible team members, supporting professional compliance and ongoing clinical practice.
Moving To Ireland
Relocating to a new country is an exciting step, but it takes planning.
We don't have a standard relocation or accommodation package, but we're always open to discussing individual circumstances case-by-case and finding ways to help where we can.
We're also happy to share practical advice and guidance throughout the process.
Before You Move
A few things worth researching early in your application journey:
Accommodation options and costs - housing in Dublin can be challenging to secure, so we strongly encourage candidates to research this early. Many people begin their search using Daft.ie and Rent.ie.
Registration with the Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI).
Visa and work permit requirements through Irish Immigration Service Delivery (ISD) and the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment.
Applying for a PPS number via MyWelfare.ie.
Opening a bank account in Ireland - useful information can be found on Citizens Information.
