Junior Veterinary Surgeon, Village Vets Coolock

Location: Village Vets Coolock
Reports to: Lead Vet

Schedule: 40hour week, 1:4 Saturdays, 1:12 weekends in Ashbourne Clinic
Salary: €40,000

About the Role

This is an ideal opportunity if you are a Veterinary Surgeon early in career and looking to develop your clinical skills within a progressive and supportive environment. You will work alongside experienced vets and nurses committed to mentoring, collaboration, and continuous learning.

  • Diagnose, treat, and care for patients to Village Vets’ high standards, with appropriate support

  • Investigate and manage cases within the practice in line with your experience level

  • Contribute to patient care, including case workup, handover, and follow-up

  • Maintain accurate clinical records and safely prescribe and dispense medications under guidance

  • Communicate clearly with clients regarding diagnostics and treatment plans

  • Work collaboratively with the wider team to deliver a positive client and patient experience

  • Support the day-to-day running and presentation of the clinic

About You

  • VCI registered (or eligible) Veterinary Surgeon with 6 months to 2 years’ experience in small animal practice.

  • Eager to learn and build confidence in consultations, routine procedures, and case management

  • Proactive, positive, and open to feedback and mentoring

  • Team-oriented, with a collaborative and supportive approach

  • Committed to delivering compassionate patient care and excellent client service

  • Engaged in ongoing learning and CPD
